NIS America shared a content roadmap for Village in the Shade showing the developer will support the horror farming game after launch with free patches and paid DLC. The roadmap includes new livestock animals, expanded farmland, and additional story events.
The game launches October 27, 2026 on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC. Two free content updates are planned, with the first arriving at launch. The September 29, 2026 patch added four new livestock types including Silkie chickens, ducks, and cows, plus new farmland options, a furniture catalog, and additional furniture pieces. An October 27, 2026 update adds a birthday event for the player character and unspecified new features.
Paid DLC is scheduled for 2027 and will introduce a new story scenario featuring a new area, new mechanics, and unique events. NIS America also shared a teaser trailer for "Sounds from the Shade," a two-CD soundtrack included in the Village in the Shade Limited Edition, highlighting music from the game.
