NIS America has announced the western release date and content roadmap for Village in the Shade, an adventure farming sim coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
NIS America has announced additional content plans for Village in the Shade ahead of its western release on October 29, 2026. The adventure farming sim will launch across PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 in North America and Europe.
Two free patches will roll out at launch, adding new furniture, livestock, and catalog features to the game's existing Japanese release. The updates also include farmland expansion, a new protagonist birthday event, and other additions.
Paid DLC is planned for spring 2027, bringing additional scenarios, new gameplay systems, standalone events, and new maps. NIS America has released a soundtrack preview video for the game.
Village in the Shade takes place in the Japanese mountain village of Kagatsu. Players settle into village life by planting crops, customising their homestead, and befriending characters. The village harbors secrets, and residents must follow three rules: don't talk to strangers, don't leave the village, and don't go out at night. Breaking these rules risks consequences as players uncover the village's mysteries. A Sunshine Mode is available for those who prefer farming without penalties.
