Riot Games has detailed a major content update for VALORANT in patch 13.06. The upcoming patch introduces a new assault rifle called the Warden, a tournament-style game mode, and a new Agent Mastery System designed to reward player playtime and performance.

The Warden joins the Vandal and Phantom as a new assault rifle option. Priced at 2,900 Credits and launching on September 22, the weapon is positioned as a middle ground between classic assault rifles and the sniper rifle class, which includes the Marshal, Outlaw, and Operator. It features a superior Aim Down Sights zoom compared to traditional assault rifles, giving players an alternative tool for holding long-range angles without fully committing to a sniper rifle.

Alongside the new weapon, patch 13.06 introduces a game mode titled Gauntlet: Glitched. This mode features eight duos competing in a tournament-style round-robin event until one team wins. Players draft from a randomized pool of abilities to create custom hybrid Robo-Agents that can be upgraded during matches. The glitched element randomly alters abilities, creating unpredictable gameplay moments.

The update also replaces the current Agent Gear system with the new Agent Mastery System. Players can now showcase their performance and strengths through custom Agent IDs, which feature master rewards, portraits, icons, and borders. Additionally, the patch includes practice range accessibility while waiting in matchmaking queues, competitive profile improvements, console launches in Australia and New Zealand, and an updated home screen.
