Valor Mortis launches at $39.99 with story DLC coming in 2027

One More Level has set Valor Mortis at $39.99 for its October 13, 2026 launch, positioning the first-person soulslike below the standard $59.99 price point for new releases. The developers believe the game's quality, 20-hour story, and fidelity justify the lower cost, even as it competes against a crowded fall release window.

In a post on X, One More Level acknowledged the market pressures on players' time and money during fall 2026. "That's why Valor Mortis is launching on October 13 at $39.99/€39.99," the studio said. "Many of you have also asked us about pre-orders but we want to let the completed version of our game do the talking. You'll be able to buy it when you have a full picture of Valor Mortis' quality, creativity and craft at launch."

The studio is also releasing a Deluxe Edition for $59.99, which includes a major story DLC scheduled for 2027 that will expand the game's narrative. The Deluxe Edition features cosmetic weapon skin packs available from now through the DLC's release, including the La Grande Armée Weapon Skin pack with Pistol, Blunderbuss, Musket, Claymore, Rapier, and Sabre variants, plus three additional confirmed weapon skin packs.

Valor Mortis is being developed by One More Level, the studio behind the Ghostrunner series. The game casts players as William, a resurrected member of Napoleon's Grande Armée, who must battle former comrades transformed into undead creatures during an alternate 19th-century Eastern Europe plagued by supernatural forces. Gameplay combines first-person action with soulslike mechanics, including supernatural powers and mystery-solving elements.

One More Level has confirmed multiple free updates planned to launch in the weeks and months following release. The studio emphasised that pre-orders will open only after players have seen the finished game at launch.
