Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Version 1.07 Legacy Patch Released With Localization Updates

Nihon Falcom and GungHo have officially released version 1.07 for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, introducing a major "Legacy Patch" across platforms. Arriving ahead of the upcoming release of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter on September 17, 2026, the update is designed to align key terminology and voice pronunciations with other entries in the Trails series. According to the publishers and developers, the localization update aims to ease the transition between the first chapter and subsequent titles while honoring the expansive world-building of the franchise.

The patch introduces multiple changes to English text and voice assets, as well as English UI and system text updates. While terminology and character names exclusive to Trails in the Sky were largely left unchanged to preserve the experience for newcomers, notable exceptions include the names of the Tetracyclic Towers—such as changing Jade Tower to Esmelas Tower and Amber Tower to Amberl Tower—due to their pivotal role in the story of the 2nd Chapter. Furthermore, "Blade-Type" quartz names have been updated to reflect the status ailments they inflict, and "Shield-Type" quartz has been renamed to "Guard-Type" quartz. In addition, several English voice pronunciations, such as those for Liberl, Calvard, Zin, Loewe, Hamel, Auslese, and Zemuria, have been revised, though publishers note that a small number of voice lines could not be modified.

In addition to English updates, the patch implements French and German text adjustments for increased consistency and accuracy, alongside general fixes for dialogue flow and grammatical errors. Critical technical problems have also been addressed, including fixes for memory-related crashes, crashes during specific operations, and other miscellaneous bugs. For players wishing to experience the game without these modifications, a separate 1.06.3 branch featuring the previous version has been made available exclusively on Steam.
