Total War: Warhammer 3 Getting Lords of the End Times DLC and Free Vampire Queen Update in September

Creative Assembly has announced a release date for Total War: Warhammer 3 expansion Lords of the End Times, which is billed as the largest downloadable content release in the series' ten-year history. The expansion, along with a gargantuan free update, is scheduled to hit players' plates on September 24th.

The upcoming expansion introduces four new legendary lords, each complete with a distinct retinue, campaign, and battle map abilities. The star of the new expansion is Nagash, the necromancer supreme, who seeks to collect magic books and gather his Mortarch lieutenants to rule over a world of dusty bones. To achieve this, Nagash must outmanoeuvre the new Skaven legendary lord Thanquol, the grey seer who rides around on a rat ogre and utilizes masterplans such as heists and evil rituals to sabotage opponents.

Additionally, The Empire receives a new elector count, Boris Todbringer, who uses a sword called Legbiter and builds a wolf temple by raising fervor from defeated enemies to perform winter rites and enhance his armies. They will face the Glottkin, the Befouled Brothers of the Chaos god Nurgle, who excel at spreading corruption and turning settlements into plague gardens that grant access to a high proportion of Daemonic Nurgle units. The trio features two brothers—one wielding a scythe and another a staff—riding upon the shoulders of a third.

Alongside the paid expansion, a free update arrives featuring Vampire Queen Neferata, accompanied by reworks for both the Vampire Counts and Archaon The Everchosen. The free update also brings new endgame scenarios and updated victory conditions to the game, adding further content to a title that already features over a hundred legendary lords.
