Creative Assembly has announced a remaster for Total War: Shogun 2, scheduled to release on October 13. Originally launched in 2011, the strategy game is receiving a comprehensive overhaul that includes improved visuals, lighting and shadows, 1440p and 4K UI scaling, and modernized controls.

The upcoming Total War: Shogun 2 - Complete Edition packages all three campaigns, consisting of Shogun 2, Rise of the Samurai, and Fall of the Samurai. It also bundles every faction downloadable content previously sold piecemeal, alongside more than 50 newly playable minor factions. Additional technical upgrades feature full Japanese and Chinese voice and text localization, a 64-bit upgrade, ultrawide monitor support, colorblind accessibility options, and integrated Mod.io support.

Players who already own the original Shogun 2 will receive legacy downloadable content from the base game at no extra cost. Existing owners will also qualify for a time-limited 75% loyalty discount toward the new edition.
