This Week in PC Games: Wardogs, Shroom and Gloom, and a Bullet-Time FPS Inspired by F.E.A.R.
A new batch of PC games arrives this week, including a 100-player military FPS from Battalion developers, a tactical heist game from the creators of King of Dragon Pass, and Sprawl Zero, a single-player shooter drawing inspiration from 2000s classics like Halo and F.E.A.R.

This week brings a diverse selection of new games to PC, highlighted by several titles that show promise across different genres.
Sprawl Zero stands out as a fast-paced first-person shooter inspired by the golden age of 2000s FPS design. The game draws direct inspiration from classics like Halo, Half-Life 2, and F.E.A.R., incorporating signature mechanics like bullet time and physics-based combat. According to its developers, the game features handcrafted levels with multiple paths, verticality, and alternate approaches that reward experimentation and replayability. Player agency is central to the design philosophy. Sprawl Zero is launching on September 8th for Xbox Series X and Series S, with a simultaneous PC release. It is confirmed as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning a single purchase grants access to both versions. The Steam demo has already received an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating ahead of launch.
Wardogs, now in early access, is a new 100-player military FPS from Bulkhead, the developers behind Battalion. The game features destructible buildings, adding environmental destruction to its multiplayer gameplay.
Thousand Hells: The Underworld Heists offers a different experience as a party-based tactical narrative game from the designers of King of Dragon Pass and Six Ages. This title positions itself as an "Orphic tactical narrative experience," blending storytelling with tactical gameplay mechanics.
Shroom and Gloom is a fungal-themed dungeon crawler that uses two decks of cards—one for navigation and another for combat. The game is noted for its hand-drawn artwork.
Additional releases this week span various genres, including Port of Jumanah, a 2D action roguelike featuring pearl diving and shark combat; Acceptable Losses, a phase-based World War 1 management game; In Falsus, an action-narrative hybrid; Ex Sanguis, a grid-based tactics RPG in early access; The Alighieri Circle: Dante's Bloodline, a literary first-person game; and The Loopler, a roguelite focused on course decoration mechanics.
