Basilisk Games has announced The Sundered Anvil, a party-based RPG drawing inspiration from classic titles like Wizardry and Might & Magic. The game is currently in development for PC and Linux, with a planned 2027 release.

The Sundered Anvil features first-person exploration across the high fantasy world of Olytheus. Players can either select from pre-generated party members or create their own characters from eight races, eight classes, and over twenty skills.

The story begins with a straightforward premise: recovering an anvil stolen from a remote village. As players progress, they discover the theft may involve something far more significant than initially apparent.

Basilisk Games is known for the Eschalon series, a retro-styled computer RPG franchise. The Sundered Anvil continues the studio's focus on classic RPG design. The game is available to wishlist on Steam ahead of its 2027 launch.
