Developer Rebel Wolves has announced that its newly launched dark vampire role-playing game, The Blood of Dawnwalker, has already surpassed one million copies sold just three days after its September 2 release. The studio took to social media to thank the community for playing, sharing, and supporting the title.

The open-world action RPG achieved this milestone despite facing some PC performance woes. Leading up to its release, the multi-platform title crossed two million wishlists across all platforms, positioning itself among the top wishlisted games of the year. On Steam, the game reached a concurrent player count of over 78,000.

Critical reception for the game has been strong, averaging an 83 Metascore based on 63 reviews. Reviewers have praised its storytelling and combat, drawing comparisons to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, given that many members of the Rebel Wolves team previously worked on that franchise. Some reviewers noted a desire for the game to lean harder into its unique time mechanics, and early mods have already emerged to remove the time limit entirely.
