Stupid Never Dies, an action RPG developed by GPTRACK50 and published with travel support from Hooded Horse, combines style, excess, and punk ideology into a vibrant experience. Set during a worldwide apocalypse, the game follows an undead protagonist named Davy. Within the opening minutes of the demo, players flush Davy down a toilet in an abandoned shopping mall to reach a hellish arena in the underworld. Davy's primary motivation is to revive his crush, Julia, who is frozen to death.

The game operates on standard light and heavy attacks alongside a "Stupid Parry" and a critical bite mechanic. In his weak base form, biting enemies is essential for Davy to restore health and unlock special abilities. By consuming cores dropped by elite enemies, Davy can mutate into monstrous forms inspired by Universal Monsters—ranging from werewolves and vampires to mermen, demons, and a cyclops. Players can keep two of these styles equipped at once and swap between them while navigating dungeons alongside his mad scientist companion, Dr. Frank.

While Stupid Never Dies features an overarching story, its gameplay structure is that of a roguelite. Run after run, players retain Davy's forms, minor temporary perks, and weaponized body parts crafted at home base—such as chainsaw legs—though these perks are lost if Davy perishes. Combat requires constant attention to surrounding enemies, encouraging an aggressive, momentum-driven playstyle reminiscent of DOOM (2016) where offense takes priority over defense. Players can activate a super mode called "Davy Burst" to power up his moveset, and surviving runs allows players to choose between arenas of varying difficulty.

Director Eiichiro Sasaki noted the difficulty of balancing the range of choice in levels after runs, while art director Genseki Tanaka and Sasaki discussed the design philosophy behind the game. Sasaki explained that the team implemented "Blazing Fast Growth"—a system where growth speed inflates during each run to help players break through multi-directional enemy pressure. Unlike more calculated action games, the team focused on player emotion and tone, creating a distinct zombiepunk atmosphere where Davy devours the strong to survive impossible odds.
