Ghosts are haunting Hawkins in Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Season 2
Netflix's animated series Stranger Things: Tales from '85 is returning for a second season this September, bringing a ghostly new threat to Hawkins.
Netflix is set to expand its animated offerings as Stranger Things: Tales from '85 returns for a second season. The animated series is scheduled to debut its second season on the 17th of September, following up on the initial debut that occurred just a few months prior. Set between the second and third seasons of the original live-action production, the show takes viewers back to a snow-covered Hawkins where an untold chapter of the saga unfolds.
This upcoming season introduces a greater threat than before, centered around ghostly monsters emerging from the Upside Down. A strange flower kicks off the new adventures, imbuing creatures from the Upside Down with ghostly abilities such as flying through walls. These entities appear immune to numerous attacks, including Eleven's telekinesis, presenting obstacles that outmatch her usual powers. However, promotional footage indicates that the main gang eventually resort to physical weapons—such as bats, golf clubs, and household items—to battle the super-powered demogorgons.
The prequel adventure continues the show's focus on reflecting and twisting expectations of Saturday morning cartoons. Despite depicting significant events involving supernatural anomalies and new flora threats, the storyline remains completely unmentioned in the main series timeline. Fans looking forward to the next installment of the prequel can expect the action-packed animated series to arrive on Netflix this autumn.
