Sega has announced a collaboration between Stranger Than Heaven and Toei Company's "Battles Without Honor and Humanity," the acclaimed yakuza film series directed by Kinji Fukasaku and starring Bunta Sugawara as protagonist Shozo Hirono. The announcement came during Sega's TGS 2026 broadcast.

The collaboration features a tribute trailer that incorporates music, stylistic elements, and editing inspired by the iconic film series. Sega notes that the trailer's aesthetic is a homage to the films and does not reflect the actual gameplay experience in Stranger Than Heaven.

Collaboration merchandise tied to the partnership will be available for purchase in Japan only. The game itself launches January 15, 2027 across PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass. Stranger Than Heaven is also a Play Anywhere title, allowing players to access it across compatible platforms.
