SteelSeries launches Rival Pro and Sensei Pro mice with ultra-wideband and swappable batteries
SteelSeries' new wireless gaming mice use ultra-wideband connectivity and swappable batteries to deliver lightweight performance. The Rival Pro and Sensei Pro launch October 13th at $179.99 each.

SteelSeries has announced two new wireless gaming mice that prioritize lightweight design and battery flexibility. The ergonomic Rival Pro and ambidextrous Sensei Pro each weigh 53 grams in black (54 grams in white) and ship with swappable circular batteries that lock into place in both the mouse and wireless base station.
Battery life depends on polling rate. At 8,000Hz, each battery lasts 16 hours. Dropping to 1,000Hz extends that to 60 hours per charge. The base station can keep a spare battery charged, and users can swap batteries mid-session without interrupting gameplay.
Unlike most wireless gaming accessories that operate on 2.4GHz, these mice use ultra-wideband (UWB) technology across 6.4GHz to 9.056GHz. SteelSeries claims this delivers 20 times the bandwidth and lower latency by avoiding the congested 2.4GHz spectrum used by consumer electronics like routers and smart devices.
The mice launch with new software features in the GG companion app. SuperSync decouples click and sensor polling, allowing users to run different polling rates for clicks and mouse movement separately. The company says this reduces CPU load when using 8,000Hz polling and can resolve compatibility issues in games that struggle with high polling rates. Smart DPI automatically adjusts sensitivity when switching between in-game play and menu navigation, slowing for precise clicks and returning to preferred sensitivity when gameplay resumes.
SteelSeries is also making its GG app available as a browser-based tool in Chrome and Edge alongside the desktop version. The web app supports firmware updates and basic settings adjustments for users who prefer not to install software.
The Rival Pro and Sensei Pro cost $179.99 each and are available to preorder now, with shopping opening October 13th. Miniature versions of both mice are also launching at the same price, weighing four grams less than their standard counterparts.
