Steam Programming Fest Underway With Coding Games and Discounts

The Steam Programming Fest is officially underway, bringing a dedicated spotlight to games built around coding, automation, hacking, computer hardware, and systems engineering. The festival encompasses diverse interactive challenges ranging from accessible logic puzzles to complex simulations that require actual programming. Participating titles include Blackdoor, an infiltration game utilizing a custom Python-like language, and The Farmer Was Replaced, which tasks players with writing code to manage autonomous agricultural drones. Other highlighted experiences include the corporate puzzle game Human Resource Machine, the factory automation title Kaizen: A Factory Story, and Zachtronics classics such as Opus Magnum and SHENZHEN I/O.

In addition to specialized programming simulators, SteamDB lists more than 100 products meeting the broader criteria for the festival with discounts of at least 50 percent.
