Lucasfilm co-president Dave Filoni has teased that Ahsoka season 2 will offer a grand adventure reminiscent of the 1963 fantasy film Jason and the Argonauts.

Lucasfilm co-president Dave Filoni has offered new details regarding what fans can expect from the upcoming second season of the television series Ahsoka. Speaking to On the Red Carpet at D23, Filoni described the new episodes as a grand adventure mirroring the stories he grew up watching, noting that it carries a feeling similar to the classic 1963 Greek myth fantasy film Jason and the Argonauts.

Filoni stated that the scope of the adventure is bigger and better, expressing deep pride in the collaborative work of the production crew across various disciplines. The first trailer for the upcoming season also premiered at D23, highlighting the return of Anakin Skywalker, Grand Admiral Thrawn's efforts to restore the Empire, and characters Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren exploring the mysterious location of Peridea.

Additional details regarding the tone and action of the season were shared by actor Eman Esfandi, who portrays Ezra Bridger. During a D23 discussion attended by GamesRadar+, Esfandi promised fans a fast-paced and fun experience featuring an abundance of lightsaber action, space battles, swords, witches, and explosions.

The upcoming season is officially scheduled to arrive on the Disney Plus streaming service on January 20, 2027.
