Sony has agreed to a court-approved settlement of $7.85 million USD to resolve a class-action lawsuit in the United States. Plaintiffs alleged that Sony forced consumers to pay higher prices for certain digital games on the PlayStation Store by eliminating digital game vouchers from third-party retailers and key resellers. According to court documents, this practice allegedly left users with no alternative digital storefront for PlayStation-exclusive games.

A final hearing is scheduled to take place on October 15 before payouts begin. Eligible participants must be United States citizens who purchased one of the specified games listed in the legal documentation between April 2019 and December 2023. Qualifying individuals will receive funds directly credited to their PlayStation Network accounts at a later date. While individual payout amounts remain unspecified, reports indicate recipients should expect modest amounts rather than massive windfalls.
