Co-op Space Roguelike Sol Protocol Sets September Release Date On Quest 3

Sol Protocol, a procedurally generated space-based co-op roguelike by Singular Perception, is heading to Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S in Early Access this September.

Developer Singular Perception (Epyka) has officially announced a September 17 Early Access release date for Sol Protocol on Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S. Pre-orders are currently open for $9.99, offering a discount from the $12.99 full price planned for the game's official release. Additionally, a cross-play supported playtest is scheduled for the end of the month, following biweekly playtests hosted by the development team.

Drawing inspiration from titles such as FTL: Faster Than Light, Void Crew, and the delisted Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Sol Protocol is a procedurally generated space-based co-op roguelike. Groups of up to three players take on three interchangeable roles aboard a fully interactive spaceship named The Pathfinder: pilot, gunner, and engineer. Together, crews navigate hostile star systems, survive diverse deep space encounters, engage in ship-to-ship combat, and explore abandoned stations and outposts to repair and upgrade their vessel.

For teams unable to assemble a full three-player crew, Singular Perception is developing fully autonomous systems known as Automa to fill vacant roles. Additional ship configurations accommodating different crew sizes are also currently in development. Following the upcoming Quest launch in September, a SteamVR release is expected to follow in October.
