Silent Hill: Townfall Confirmed as PS5 Timed Exclusive, Xbox Release Possible After Six Months

Konami has released 19 minutes of gameplay footage for Silent Hill: Townfall, the next mainline entry in the long-running horror franchise. According to fine print shown at the end of the video, the game will launch on September 24, 2026 as a console exclusive on PlayStation 5 for at least six months, while also releasing simultaneously on PC.

The on-screen text reads: "Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 6 months after release date." This wording suggests the earliest possible window for an Xbox Series X|S version would open around March 24, 2027. However, the publisher has not explicitly confirmed an Xbox port, and the six-month minimum does not guarantee a release at that time.

Historical precedent offers mixed signals. The Silent Hill 2 remake arrived on Xbox hardware in November 2024, just over a year after its initial PlayStation launch. If Townfall follows a similar pattern, Xbox players could face a longer wait than the minimum exclusivity period implies.

The game is described as a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set in Scotland during 1996. Players control Simon Ordell, who returns to the island town of St. Amelia to "put things right," encountering tense evasion, explosive confrontations, and mind-bending puzzles that gradually reveal the town's secrets.

As with all platform-exclusivity announcements, plans can shift. The current information indicates a timed arrangement rather than a permanent console exclusive, but no firm Xbox release date or commitment has been made by Konami.
