Almost 3 Hours of Silent Hill: Townfall Gameplay Now Available

YouTube creator CohhCarnage received early access to Silent Hill: Townfall and released three videos showcasing almost three hours of gameplay from the game's early sections. The footage provides a substantial preview of what Konami's upcoming horror title will offer when it launches.

Silent Hill: Townfall is a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set in Scotland during 1996. Players assume the role of Simon Ordell, who must explore a world of tense evasion, explosive confrontations, and mind-bending puzzles while uncovering the truth of St. Amelia.

The game marks a significant departure for the franchise by using a first-person camera perspective. While PT and Silent Hill: Short Message employed first-person views, they never released on PC. Silent Hill 4: The Room featured first-person gameplay, but only within Henry's apartment. Townfall represents the series' first full first-person experience on PC.

Gameplay involves exploration, enemy evasion, and survival using a limited arsenal of weapons and tools. One distinctive mechanic is the CRTV, a pocket-sized television that allows Simon to tune into unstable signals. According to developers, evasion gameplay emphasizes tension while combat encounters are fast and intense. Story-driven puzzles serve as a core element, gradually revealing the dark truth underlying the game's narrative.

Konami will release Silent Hill: Townfall on September 24 for PlayStation 5 and PC. The early access footage contains spoilers from the game's opening hours.
