Liquid Swords has released Update #8 for Samson on PC, a substantial patch that restructures how new players learn the game and significantly refines vehicle combat mechanics.

The update introduces a new playable combat tutorial that integrates into Samson's backstory, occurring before the protagonist returns to Tyndalston. Additional tutorials now highlight systems players commonly miss, such as triggering Adrenaline Rush while driving and using shoving mechanics to knock enemies into hazards. Tutorial images and in-game hints throughout the campaign make these systems clearer to understand.

Vehicle combat receives several meaningful changes. Enemy vehicle weak spots now display on screen with blue overlays on the wheels, turning red as they take damage to show critical health. This visual feedback helps players identify the fastest way to disable vehicles through side rams. Enemy drivers behave more aggressively, using side rams more often, while NPC drivers improve at avoiding collisions. Mission vehicles now have map markers for easier location.

The patch adds five new jackets for player customization. Four unlock progressively by earning between 2 and 12 Skill Points, while the fifth unlocks after completing the final story chapter. An emergency respawn option at the Clinic has also been added for saves stuck in unrecoverable states.

Vehicle progression changes significantly. Normal traffic cars no longer grant XP, but vehicle takedowns now reward more XP. Players also earn XP when mission target vehicles are destroyed by other means. Garages now offer a cheaper partial repair option, and Nitro and repair boards provide better rewards.

Three new Takedown Jobs target the Grim Skulls, Debt Collectors, and a new street gang. Mission variety improves to reduce repeat missions. The update fixes numerous mission issues, including stuck NPCs, broken objectives, bad vehicle spawns, and blocked paths. NPC navigation improvements make the GPS favor larger roads.

The patch addresses numerous bugs across perks, achievements, cash rewards, combat music, phone hints, camera movement, and NPC behavior. Loot drop placement has improved to prevent items ending up inside walls. The update resolves specific mission problems, such as passengers entering the wrong vehicle seat and fleeing NPCs moving erratically.
