Former Tarkov Devs Unveil First Art for Rush is Real, Grounded Asian Cyberpunk Shooter
Nomion Games has revealed concept art and design details for Rush is Real, a debut title from former Escape from Tarkov developers. The game blends Asian megacities with Eastern European brutalism, led artistically by digital artist Space Meerkat.

Nomion Games has unveiled the first concept art for Rush is Real, the studio's debut title created by former Escape from Tarkov developers. The game is positioned as a grounded Asian cyberpunk shooter that combines the visual language of Asian megacities with the heavy brutalism of Eastern Europe.
Space Meerkat, a digital 3D artist with over 100,000 Instagram followers, has joined Nomion Games as Art Director. In an interview, he described how the project's core concept and lore aligned with his artistic vision. "The concept, mood, and lore of Rush is Real turned out to be very close to my own style and the kinds of worlds I like to create," he said. "It felt like the most natural step, because during the conversation with Jean and Dmitri, I realized that at Nomion, I could become part of a team where I would genuinely enjoy the work while at the same time be creating a world that feels truly close to me."
Space Meerkat characterised the game's artistic direction as "already very solid and confident," noting that the design team has assembled a "deeper vision" of the project. He described Rush is Real as "a mix of cyberpunk and brutalism, a combination of Asian and Eastern European cultural signatures, with our own personal inspirations and visual sensibilities that we've been building throughout our lives added to it."
The game's core mechanic remains undisclosed, though previous materials indicate it is designed to "redefine player motivation." The mechanic was compelling enough to draw three prolific Tarkov developers away from Battlestate Games to establish Nomion Games. Space Meerkat cited the core mechanic as the primary draw that encouraged him to become "immersed in the lore of Rush is Real."
Space Meerkat plans to travel to China and Russia this year to gather additional inspiration for the project. Nomion Games also revealed a new logo for Rush is Real, though the studio has not explained what the original logo's hidden detail represents. The game remains largely under wraps, positioned as a near-future shooter with cinematic visual ambitions.
