Resident Evil Veronica Remake Reportedly Delayed to Fall 2027

According to insider sources, Capcom's Resident Evil Veronica remake has slipped from an originally planned early 2027 window to fall 2027, with the publisher making late-stage changes to the game's scope.

Capcom's Resident Evil Veronica remake may have shifted to a fall 2027 release, according to insider AestheticGamer (Dusk Golem) on Twitter. The remake notably skipped both Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show this year, an unusual absence for a mainline Resident Evil title.

AestheticGamer reported hearing about the delay from three separate sources, describing a "high chance" the remake has slipped from an originally planned first-half 2027 window. "Though they haven't heard it directly yet myself, so I guess take with some grain of salt if you trust in me trying to share these things to the best of my ability, but I'm coming to believe it's true," the insider stated.

Capcom reportedly made "some late changes to the game; the scope and time to do such were a bit in the air," which may have extended development timelines beyond initial expectations. AestheticGamer noted that such changes "definitely was not their plan from the start."

Since Capcom has never publicly announced a release date, this remains unconfirmed. The remake is officially planned for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Fans may hear more details at The Game Awards later this year.
