Zach Cregger's Resident Evil film has become a box office success, crossing the $100 million mark at the domestic box office in under two weeks. The film earned $23 million in its second weekend alone, finishing second only to the re-release of Avengers: Endgame.

According to box office tracking, Cregger's Resident Evil has accumulated $103 million domestically and $197 million worldwide. This performance makes it the third most lucrative film in the Resident Evil franchise by total domestic earnings, behind only Paul W. S. Anderson's Resident Evil: Afterlife.

The film was made on a $75 million budget by Sony Pictures Entertainment. While $23 million in a single weekend might seem modest against that figure, the overall domestic total represents strong performance. In its opening weekend alone, the film earned $60 million domestically.

Globally, Cregger's Resident Evil ranks fourth among all Resident Evil films, trailing Resident Evil: The Final Chapter ($314 million worldwide), Resident Evil: Afterlife ($356 million worldwide) and Resident Evil: Retribution ($282 million worldwide). The film has only been in theaters for approximately two weeks.
