Rennsport received a significant update on 24 September 2026 targeting artificial intelligence, visual fidelity, and peripheral responsiveness across all platforms.

The developer framed the AI improvements as "a new baseline for artificial intelligence." The changes include greater awareness of track limits and rival drivers, more conventional racing lines, reduced hesitancy, and improved balance across car types and difficulty levels. "Our design target for single-player racing remains focused on smart racing and zero stupidity," the studio stated. The update does not claim the AI is now the smartest available, and development remains ongoing.

Visual enhancements marked as the "first round" focus primarily on lighting. These include increased track visibility in cockpit view during darker times of day, higher shadow contrast, reduced headlight glare, and skybox adjustments. Players on PlayStation and Xbox can now toggle motion blur on or off.

PlayStation 5 owners with direct drive wheel peripherals should notice more subtle haptic effects. H-pattern shifter users will no longer experience input delay. Multiplayer track limit penalty logic has been adjusted for race and qualifying scenarios across the cross-platform servers.

The Kings of the Ring DLC released simultaneously. Deluxe Edition owners receive it at no additional cost. Base game owners can purchase it separately. The pack includes the Porsche 911 S/T, which introduces a functioning drag-reduction system (DRS) to the game for the first time, plus the Nürburgring Nordschleife 24Hr circuit layout. Standard Edition owners who purchase the DLC also unlock the 24Hr layout, which is otherwise exclusive to Deluxe.
