Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod 'Nuevo Paraiso' Brings Mexico Expansion in September

A fan-made mod named Nuevo Paraiso--The Forgotten Frontier brings a Mexico expansion to Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC this September, featuring Sadie Adler as its recommended protagonist.

While developer Rockstar never released official story downloadable content for Red Dead Redemption 2, a dedicated modder is stepping in to fill the gap. Mod author Roxis724 is preparing an ambitious project titled Nuevo Paraiso--The Forgotten Frontier, which is slated to launch on September 16 as a free download on PC via Nexus Mods. A newly released trailer highlights the scope of the expansion, showcasing restored and recreated Mexican locations from the original Red Dead Redemption alongside fresh settlements, gang hideouts, treasure hunts, minigames, bounty-hunter missions, and random encounters.

The project introduces a brand-new protagonist for the series: Sadie Adler. Because Sadie mentions moving to South America following the events of the prequel, the mod's creators note it is plausible she traveled through Mexico on her journey, allowing for a narrative path that avoids conflicting with the established story. While playing as Sadie is recommended for story reasons, players will also have the option to experience the mod as franchise mainstays Arthur Morgan or John Marston.

Roxis724 has previously worked on other Red Dead Redemption 2 modifications, including an earlier, smaller-scale Mexico expansion that served as the foundation for this current release. According to project updates shared by the development team, the goal has been to deliver an immersive world that reflects the real-world oppression, despair, and social tension of the era, ultimately setting the stage for both the original game and the historical Mexican Revolution of 1911.
