Real VR Fishing Celebrates Seventh Anniversary With Prehistoric Sharks Event
Developer Devs United Games is marking the seventh anniversary of Real VR Fishing with a multi-week Prehistoric Sharks event starting September 15, 2026, on Quest and PC VR platforms.

Developer Devs United Games is celebrating the seventh anniversary of Real VR Fishing with a new in-game celebration called the Prehistoric Sharks Event. The game has sold over one million copies since its launch. The upcoming event launches on September 15, 2026, across Quest and Steam for PC VR, priced at $19.99 on both platforms.
The anniversary event tasks players with researching ancient marine predators by fishing for fossils in real-world locations tied to geological eras. One era will unlock each week over a three-week period. Week one starts on September 15 featuring the Paleozoic era, week two begins on September 22 featuring the Mesozoic era, and week three opens on September 29 focusing on the Cenozoic era. In total, the event introduces seven ancient shark species to hidden prehistoric locations.
To participate, players must examine hints on the event map screen to locate where fossils can be caught. Catching the required number of fossils unlocks that week's map, which remains accessible until the event concludes in early October. Participants will also receive exclusive event items including a fishing rod, hat, boat, and title.
Alongside the prehistoric event, the update introduces a personalized Angler's Logbook for all players. This feature compiles milestones, caught fish, and visited locations into a shareable record. Furthermore, three additional standard fish species have been added to the game.
