Queen's Domain brings King's Field spirit to Steam and consoles this Halloween

The indie first-person RPG launches October 30 across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2, drawing inspiration from FromSoftware's classic series with retro-fantasy aesthetics and punishing gameplay.

Queen's Domain, an indie first-person RPG inspired by FromSoftware's King's Field series, arrives October 30 on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2. The game has accumulated over 180,000 Steam wishlists since its announcement.

The game adopts retro-fantasy aesthetics without directly mimicking PS1-era graphics. Instead, it uses dithering effects, sparse UI, and chunky creature designs to evoke that era's atmosphere while running on modern hardware with dense, detailed environments.

Players begin washed ashore on a mysterious island with minimal guidance. The interconnected world requires exploration and experimentation to progress, with weapons and powers gradually unlocked through discovery. The design targets players who seek challenging, non-linear RPG experiences.

A demo is available now on Steam ahead of launch. Queen's Domain joins a growing lineup of indie King's Field tributes, alongside Lunacid, which released in 2023 to positive reviews, and Verho: Curse of Faces, which has also garnered favorable reception.
