Pokémon Center in the UK and Germany Affected by CEVA Logistics Data Breach

The consequences of a recent CEVA Logistics data breach have expanded beyond Valve's Steam hardware customers in Europe. Shipping partner CEVA Logistics has notified the official Pokémon Center merchandise and collectibles store that certain customers in the UK and Germany have also been affected by the security incident.

Notifications sent to impacted individuals indicate that the leaked information may include full names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and specific order contents. However, customer payment and card details remain secure, as Pokémon Center does not share that financial information with CEVA Logistics. The cyberattack is believed to have occurred between July 29th and August 1st.

Unlike the Valve incident, Pokémon Center has taken the step of cancelling the orders of affected customers. Furthermore, the breach has caused processing and shipping delays across the Pokémon Center UK website, meaning some orders may take longer to be dispatched. Customers whose orders were cancelled are able to place new orders, though there is no guarantee that desired items will still be in stock, which is particularly problematic for highly anticipated Pokémon 30th anniversary products.
