Beamdog has released Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Patch 3.2 today on PC and mobile platforms. The update expands language support and addresses long-standing technical issues affecting Mac users and mobile players.
The patch adds five new community-translated languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, and Simplified Chinese. Czech localization is now also available on mobile. Beamdog made changes to enable dynamic language support, allowing easier updates and additions in the future.
Mac players benefit from native Apple Silicon support, which delivers faster app launch times, improved overall performance, and faster rendering. Laptops running the native version will see lower power consumption and longer battery life. The minimum supported macOS version is now macOS 10.15, while iOS support now requires iOS 15.0 or later.
Mobile players gain significant improvements to modding and file management. Android modding now works after a bug fix resolved incorrect permissions that prevented access to game files. On iOS, the game now stores and reads data from locations visible to standard file browsers, enabling direct file management on the device or via computer. Android foldable device support has been fixed, with proper UI scaling and touch input handling when the screen configuration changes.
The update resolves a Modron's Maze bug where modded content was incorrectly reloaded or removed from save files, preventing areas from resetting after leaving the Maze. Steam Cloud Saves can now be controlled directly via Steam client settings instead of only through in-game options. GOG Galaxy Cloud Saves now function properly.
Additional improvements include simplified dialog modding on PC, where users can place a custom dialog.tlk file in the override folder. iOS hardware keyboard support has been fixed, with external keyboards and Bluetooth devices now functioning as expected. Mobile keyboard improvements prevent the cursor from disappearing when the virtual keyboard appears. Android override folder performance has been optimized, resolving long boot delays caused by large modding folders.
A new UI scaling option in Graphics settings allows players to scale the interface to fit their game window or maintain the intended 1024×768 size. Font size settings are now saved per language, and the Chinese font has been updated at the request of localization volunteers. Linux compatibility has been improved through migration from libssl to OpenSSL.
Beamdog confirmed on Steam that it is investigating native controller support for the PC version in the future.
