Overwatch Unveils New Support Hero Doctrine at BlizzCon
Blizzard has revealed Doctrine, a brand-new Support hero joining the Overwatch roster with unique abilities like Invigorating Drones and Infuse.

Overwatch developer Team 4 has unveiled its newest hero, Doctrine, during BlizzCon. Joining the Support roster alongside Sombra, Doctrine introduces a fresh kit designed to shake up the hero shooter.
Doctrine features a shift ability with a Sandevistan twist, a primary fire that both heals and damages, and an area-of-effect ultimate that simultaneously heals allies and reduces enemy health capacity. However, the core of Doctrine's build centers on his second ability and his right-click mechanic.
The second ability, Invigorating Drones, attaches to an ally to boost attack speed and healing. This ability pairs effectively with hitscan heroes such as Soldier: 76, Sojourn, or Sierra, particularly when combined with a Kiriko ultimate.
Doctrine's right click, known as Infuse, adds powerful secondary effects to his other abilities. When active, his shift grants faster movement and vertical reach with the added benefit of flight. Invigorating Drones can also target Doctrine himself to buff his own attack speed and passive healing, while his primary fire changes to a charged hit that increases both healing and damage output.
These options raise the hero skill ceiling by providing diverse ways to handle engagement and disengagement. Team 4 continues to introduce innovative heroes following earlier reworks this year.
