Onimusha: Way of the Sword Demo Receives New Content and Nintendo Switch 2 Support

Capcom has updated the Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo with a new quest and boss fight while expanding availability to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Capcom has released a fresh content update for the playable demo version of its upcoming action RPG, Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The update introduces a brand-new second quest that invites players to explore the Oni Refuge. This addition showcases an early slice of the game's story, incorporates new gameplay mechanics, and introduces players to a formidable encounter with the boss known as Daidara.

Alongside the gameplay additions, the demo's update brings expanded platform availability, making it accessible on the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. Onimusha: Way of the Sword marks the franchise's first new installment in twenty years. Set in an alternate dark fantasy version of Japan, the narrative follows Miyamoto Musashi equipped with a mystical Oni Gauntlet as he fights off invading demons in Edo-period Kyoto.

Fans looking forward to the full experience can expect the complete title to launch globally on September 4, 2026. The full game is scheduled to release across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
