Once Human Available Now on Xbox Series X|S With Xbox Game Pass and Cross-Play Support

NetEase Interactive Entertainment's free-to-play survival shooter, Once Human, is officially available now on Xbox Series X|S. Following its initial release on August 25, the title's launch on Xbox brings full support for cross-play, cross-progression, and Xbox Play Anywhere (XPA), allowing players to connect across platforms. Developers emphasize that the game remains committed to a fair experience featuring zero pay-to-win mechanics.

As part of its console arrival, Once Human is available Day One with Xbox Game Pass. Subscribers can claim exclusive membership benefits, including an exclusive avatar, a METAPASS Benefit Card featuring 300 star sources and 30-day benefits alongside trials for 14-plus outfits, a discount voucher bundle, battle pass XP cards, and free outfits delivered through monthly updates.

The game has been optimized for Xbox Series X|S to provide a living room experience featuring controller integration and 4K resolution support. Additionally, the launch introduces a highly requested First-Person Perspective (FPP) toggle for consoles, letting players switch dynamically between first-person and third-person views.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world altered by a cosmic entity known as Stardust, Once Human blends survival mechanics with a "New Weird" aesthetic inspired by works like Jeff VanderMeer's Annihilation. Players act as Meta-Humans battling anomalous creatures called Deviants, building personal bases, and utilizing creature-catching mechanics to tame Deviations for combat and territory support. Looking ahead, the developers have announced that an Ocean Expansion is scheduled to launch this October, introducing islands, deep-sea exploration, and customizable sea fortresses.
