NYT Strands #934 for September 23 centers on terms describing things that have aged or fallen out of relevance. The puzzle's spanagram, which reveals the deeper theme connecting all words, is "That's Old News."

Strands is a daily word search puzzle launched by The New York Times in 2024. Players search a 6×8 letter grid to find words that share a common theme. Words must be at least four letters long to count. Words fitting the theme appear in blue when found, while the spanagram turns yellow upon discovery. Finding three non-theme words unlocks a hint.

For players working through today's puzzle, here are general hints without spoiling the answers:

Hint 1: Aged and faded from years of use. Hint 2: Original, as in the earliest stages of Earth's history. Hint 3: Outdated or no longer in common use. Hint 4: Old in a historical context. Hint 5: Having passed out of sight or memory.

The spanagram theme is a common phrase indicating something no longer relevant or recently reported.

Strands updates daily at midnight in the player's time zone. Game #935 will become available on September 24. Juliette Seive, a research director on The New York Times Games team, developed Strands' original concept. Tracy Bennett serves as the puzzle editor, overseeing daily puzzle creation and curation since the game's 2024 launch.

Players can access Strands through The New York Times website or the NYT Games app.
