Nvidia’s new RTX Spark laptops launch in October with two different configs

Nvidia has announced that its Arm-based RTX Spark laptops will launch in October, arriving with two different configurations for its N1X chip. While earlier rumors leading up to the announcement mentioned both the N1X and N1 chips, Nvidia has confirmed that the N1 chip will not be arriving this year.

The top-of-the-line N1X configuration comes equipped with a 6144-core Blackwell RTX GPU, paired with a 20-core Grace CPU and a unified memory pool ranging between 24GB and 128GB. This higher-end tier will ship in both high-end laptops and miniature PCs, such as Microsoft’s Surface RTX Spark Dev Box. Meanwhile, a more cut-down version of the N1X features a 5120-core Blackwell RTX GPU, combined with an 18-core Grace CPU and between 24GB and 32GB of unified memory. Devices utilizing this laptop-focused configuration are expected to launch from manufacturers including Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and MSI.

Nvidia has shared preliminary performance expectations for the hardware, vaguely promising 100fps 1440p gaming with ray-tracing and DLSS enabled. However, exact availability details and retail pricing from individual PC makers remain pending as the October release window approaches.
