Nintendo Releases Behind-the-Scenes Creator's Voice Video for Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Nintendo has released a new behind-the-scenes Creator's Voice video focusing on third-party support for the Switch 2, giving players a closer look at Capcom's upcoming title, Onimusha: Way of the Sword. In the seven-minute video, director Satoru Nihei guides viewers through the creation of the game, detailing how the development team crafted the sword fighting mechanics and developed the contrast between hero Miyamoto Musashi and villain Sasaki Ganryu.

The video also showcases the Switch 2's optional motion controls scheme alongside the special scanning rig used by the Capcom team to map the faces of willing employees for use as in-game NPCs. During the demonstration, Nihei tries out the face scanner himself, joking that he ultimately decided against including his own face in the final game because he found it too embarrassing.

Ahead of the full game launch scheduled for September 4th, players can already experience a free demo available on the eShop. Reviewers previously praised the title on the platform, describing the release as a well-paced adventure combining action, exploration, horror, and comedy elements.
