The upcoming vampire role-playing game Nighthawks has received an adult content label on Steam shortly before its scheduled launch. Developers Richard Cobbett and Wadjet Eye Games are actively working to convince Valve to reverse the decision. The classification currently excludes the title from Steam searches and completely delisted it in certain countries.

Dave Gilbert of Wadjet Eye Games addressed the situation on social media, stating that Valve treats the project like a porn game and believes it is much sexier than reality. Speaking to PC Gamer, Richard Cobbett explained that the team is unsure what specifically triggered the issue. They have reached out to Valve in hopes of having the label removed quickly.

According to the developers, the game contains only a few censored elements related to companion romances. These scenes rely on tasteful fades to black rather than explicit visuals. Nighthawks has been in development since 2018 and is slated to release on September 22nd.
