Rumour: New Uncharted Game in Development at Naughty Dog with Nathan Drake in Supporting Role

Naughty Dog is working on a new Uncharted game that will feature Nathan Drake in a different capacity than players are used to, according to reports from MP1st. The Lost Legacy director Shaun Escayag is leading the project.

MP1st, which has previously broken news on other major PlayStation projects, claims the franchise is shifting focus away from Drake as the protagonist. "What we've been told is that the new Uncharted title will have Nathan Drake in some form, though as the protagonist or a side character, cameo, we can't nail down for sure now," the outlet stated.

This development follows Naughty Dog's focus on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. According to the report, after that project launches, the studio will turn its attention to the new Uncharted game. The leaker NateTheHate2 recently suggested Escayag is not working on a new The Last of Us title, which aligns with the Uncharted project claim.

The report also indicates The Last of Us 3 is planned as Naughty Dog's next project following this new Uncharted entry. No release date or official confirmation has been provided by Sony or Naughty Dog.
