News of the pirated PC version initially surfaced on the Plague Tale subreddit. In response, subreddit moderators have taken a firm stance against the leaks, announcing that any posts sharing or asking for information regarding the leaked content will result in permanent bans, with potential plans to lock down the subreddit entirely if the leaks continue.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is officially scheduled for release on August 27. The upcoming title marks a significant departure for the series, featuring a new main character, Sophia, whom players previously encountered in A Plague Tale: Requiem. Moving away from the sibling duo of Amicia and Hugo, the story explores Sophia's connection to the Macula 15 years prior to the events of the original game, alongside a parallel timeline following Theseus and the Minotaur.

In addition to narrative changes, the upcoming release shifts away from the traditional stealth mechanics seen in past entries, opting instead for upfront combat.
