Nelumbo brings three classic Amiga Lotus racers to PC
Almost There Games has announced Nelumbo, a modern reimplementation that combines Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, and Lotus III into one rebuilt package for PC with widescreen support and controller compatibility.
Almost There Games is modernizing a nostalgia hit. Nelumbo, a new PC game from the studio, fuses all three legendary titles from the Lotus arcade racing trilogy into one rebuilt package. The original games stood as pinnacle high-speed racers on the Amiga, spanning Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, and Lotus III: The Ultimate Challenge.
Nelumbo preserves the distinct character of the original releases while introducing modern refinements for today's hardware. The game delivers arcade-style racing that demands quick reflexes. Players choose a campaign, master its roads, and fight to reach first place while rival drivers aggressively crowd the racing line, unpredictable road surfaces fight back, and weather changes.
The reimplementation includes three Lotus campaigns in one game, fast arcade racing against rivals and traffic, and three distinct driving experiences with their own courses, hazards, graphics and race displays. Technical features include modern keyboard, analog controller and racing wheel support, widescreen and ultrawide high-resolution presentation at modern frame rates with smooth movement and crisp original pixel art, expanded draw distance and richer roadside scenery, radio and sound effects, high scores and achievements.
Players will race through rapidly changing scenery including dense forests, crowded cities, muddy marshes, treacherous mountain roads and neon-lit night-time highways.
