NC Reveals Like or Die at Gamescom 2026 Alongside Cinder City and Aion 2
NC has announced Like or Die, formerly known as Project Bonfire, at Gamescom 2026 alongside a new trailer for Cinder City and updates on Aion 2.
During the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, developer and publisher NC revealed Like or Die, which was formerly known as Project Bonfire. The title was presented alongside a new trailer for the open-world shooter Cinder City and continued promotional updates for the MMORPG Aion 2 ahead of its scheduled September 30, 2027 early access launch.
Like or Die is described as a social media-themed battle royale and survival shooter. In the game, players operate as live streamers who broadcast their matches across a cosmic platform known as “Quaya Stream.” Squads must cooperate to gather resources and use a block-action system to reshape the terrain and construct cover in order to outlast competing teams. The reveal was announced by co-Chief Executive Officers Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo from the company's Irvine, California offices, signaling a heightened focus on Western audiences following strong financial growth.
NC reported that its PC game revenue increased by 210% year-over-year in the first quarter, reaching approximately $223 million, bolstered by the release of Aion 2 in Asia. Like or Die is planned for release on PC via Steam. However, a specific release date has not yet been confirmed, and the game has not been announced for any console platforms at this time.
