Developer and publisher NC has announced a limited 72-hour Steam playtest for its upcoming free-to-play survival shooter, Time Takers. Access requests for the upcoming test are currently open, allowing interested players to head over to the game's official Steam page to request access ahead of the weekend event.

The playtest officially kicks off on Friday, September 4, running between 10:00 AM Pacific and concluding at 10:00 AM Pacific on September 7. Participants who gain access will be able to begin downloading the game client a day early starting on September 3. Time Takers features a unique gameplay mechanic where time acts as both progression and health, serving as a vital resource that can also be shared with teammates during matches.

According to the announcement, this weekend playtest incorporates various changes and improvements gathered from community feedback during previous tests. Among the updates are revamped character visuals, the introduction of colorblind mode support, and an improved tutorial. Additionally, the development team has implemented matchmaking optimizations and general game balance adjustments to refine the survival shooter experience ahead of its eventual launch.
