Mr. Records Combines Vinyl Shop Management and Rhythm Gameplay
Glee-Cheese Studio has revealed Mr. Records, an upcoming rhythm game and management simulator where players step into the shoes of record store owner George.

Glee-Cheese Studio is developing Mr. Records, a rhythm game and management simulator that puts players in the role of George, a former worker navigating a late-career change into the vinyl thrifting market. In the game, players wake up each morning to recommend albums to regular customers based on their specific tastes. However, protagonist George harbors a secret ability to experience music unlike anyone else.
Every night, when George puts on a vinyl record, he dives directly into the music. This mechanic transitions the title into a simple two-button rhythm game featuring directional inputs. Players guide George through various musical worlds where he walks, jumps, dashes, and slides directly to the beat. The development team has crafted 45 original songs that chart George's life, which can then be sold and recommended to customers within the shop.
Preview tracks include the old-timey blues number Sausage Blues, the poppy and Mizaguchi-esque track Shine, and the early Beatles-inspired song Power of Imagination. The Sausage Blues level features George sliding across tracks of mustard and ketchup in a desert while kicking cactus plants out of his way. The game also incorporates subtle visual details, such as the wobble of George's belly when he stops walking in his old man pajamas.
The development team at Glee-Cheese previously worked on musical games including Headbangers: Rhythm Royale and A Musical Story. The demo was recently showcased on PC at Gamescom 2026. Mr. Records currently does not have an official release date, and the final product remains subject to change as development continues.
