Monster Hunter Wilds Ending Paid Character Editing December 3rd
Capcom is discontinuing Character Edit Vouchers for Monster Hunter Wilds after December 3, 2026. Players who purchased vouchers will receive compensation and free edits ahead of the Ascendance expansion.

Capcom has announced it will stop distributing Character Edit Vouchers for Monster Hunter Wilds following an update on December 3, 2026. The decision reflects the studio's intention to make character customization more accessible as the game approaches its Ascendance expansion.
Players who have purchased vouchers in the past will receive compensation through the December 3 update. Additionally, Capcom will provide a small number of free Character Edit Vouchers to allow continued customization until Ascendance launches in 2027.
The change removes a paid barrier to character editing, allowing hunters to adjust appearance and builds more freely as new content arrives. This timing aligns with Ascendance introducing significant gameplay changes, including the Boost Bracer mechanic and transformed weapon movesets for weapons like the Switch Axe and Dual Blades.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Nintendo Switch 2 users will gain access starting December 4, 2026. The Ascendance expansion is scheduled for 2027 across all platforms.
In a separate development, Monster Hunter Wilds director Takuro Hiraoka discussed the base game's difficulty approach in an interview at Tokyo Game Show. Hiraoka explained that Capcom initially designed the game to avoid alienating newer players but acknowledged that the playerbase proved more skilled than anticipated. For Ascendance, Capcom is working to satisfy both hardcore players and those seeking the main story experience through dedicated endgame content.
