Modern Warfare 4 Beta Patch Notes Reveal PC Requirements, Maps, and Security Rules

Infinity Ward has officially confirmed the PC system requirements and comprehensive patch notes for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta. Early Access for the game kicks off on August 21, 2026, followed by the Open Beta on August 28, 2026. Players can download and access the beta via Battle.net and Steam, provided their systems meet the necessary specifications and security guidelines.

To participate in online matches during the beta, PC players are required to have both TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled. These Windows security features form the foundational base for RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, and Activision has confirmed that players who do not meet these security requirements will be restricted from online play. Users can run the Call of Duty Secure Attestation Wizard prior to launch to verify that their PC meets the required standards. Minimum hardware specifications accommodate older components like the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i5-8400, while requiring 50 GB of free SSD space and specific driver versions from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel.

The Weekend One patch notes detail a variety of maps, modes, and weapons available to test. Confirmed multiplayer maps include Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, and Kill Block. Players can jump into game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Mobility Course, Kill Block, 10v10, and Gunfight. Additionally, playlists like Quick Play and Open Moshpit will feature standard rotation options. Weekend One grants access to 14 weapons, supported by updated Gunsmith and Apex Attachments systems—such as the Han X20 Skybreaker and the X-58 Void stealth platform—designed to streamline weapon progression and reduce redundant attachment grinding.

Progression systems during the beta will track player experience points toward a level cap, which is set at Level 20 for Weekend One and increases to Level 30 for Weekend Two. The update also introduces the Smart Streak layer to the Killstreak system, granting points for objective play alongside traditional kills. Infinity Ward has additionally noted several known issues to watch for during the test, including display glitches with 4x optics, loadout screen overlaps, animation timing errors during slide-to-sprint transitions, and performance hitches tied to specific recording software.
