Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel have confirmed that Mewgenics will launch on consoles on September 8, 2026.
Developers Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel have officially confirmed that the strategy roguelike and cat-breeding simulator Mewgenics is coming to console platforms. The console editions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 are scheduled to release in two weeks on September 8, 2026. The official confirmation follows earlier storefront appearances on the Xbox Store and Nintendo eShop, while the PlayStation 5 store page provided the first formal look at that specific platform's release.
The announcement was highlighted during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, which featured a musical performance of the feline-based song "Guillotina" by Ridiculon. While the upcoming console launch brings the title to portable and home systems following its desktop PC run, players currently face uncertainties regarding future content. At present, there is no news regarding cross-save functionality, raising concerns for desktop players wishing to transfer their progress to console hardware. Additionally, developers have not shared updates regarding the first expansion or upcoming downloadable content.
