Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux rated for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Dedicated PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux are on the way, according to ESRB ratings discovered by Insider Gaming.

The two games are currently playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility with minimal technical issues. The new ports promise enhanced graphical fidelity compared to existing versions.

Metro 2033 Redux is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB, with Blood, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Drugs, and Violence. The game is a first-person shooter based on the novel Metro 2033, in which players navigate the subway system of a post-apocalyptic Moscow while battling human enemies and mutant creatures.

Metro: Last Light Redux carries the same M for Mature 17+ rating, with Blood, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol. Players take on the role of Artyom, a soldier navigating underground tunnels and toxic surface landscapes while fighting hostile forces.

Both remasters are over a decade old, and newer graphics rendering could make them more accessible entry points for players new to the franchise. The separate ESRB rating entries for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S strongly suggest the ports are confirmed, though publisher 4A Games has not made an official announcement. Speculation points to potential reveals at The Game Awards 2026 or in the coming weeks.
