Marvel Rivals Season 10 Update Launches With Gorr the God Butcher and Roster Adjustments

The gaming community is turning its attention to the latest content update for Marvel Rivals as Season 10, officially dubbed 'Butcher’s Blasphemy,' prepares to launch. Developer NetEase has rolled out details regarding the upcoming patch, confirming that the new season is scheduled to go live on September 11, 2026. Among the most notable talking points ahead of the update is the introduction of Gorr the God Butcher, who stands as the core character addition for the new period of content.

Gorr’s arrival was heavily highlighted in a promotional trailer released by NetEase, which depicts the character entering into an immediate conflict with Thor. Within the cinematic context of the trailer, Thor accuses Gorr of responsibility for Loki’s death, sparking community discussion surrounding Loki's mysterious absence and whereabouts heading into the new update. Gorr enters the roster as the 54th character to join the game, classified as a Duelist. Armed with his signature weapon, the All-Black sword, Gorr features gameplay mechanics that allow him to manipulate the blade into various forms, utilize dashes and teleports, and deploy a Black Berserker summon for his ultimate ability.

Alongside the addition of Gorr, the Season 10 patch notes detail extensive balance adjustments and modifications across the existing character roster. These changes touch multiple hero classes, altering damage values, health pools, cooldowns, and specific Team-Up mechanics. For instance, adjustments have been applied to characters such as Thor, Magneto, the Thing, Black Cat, and various Strategists, impacting how ultimate energy and special abilities function in competitive matches. Additionally, the developers have confirmed that Season 10 will break from tradition by featuring only one character rather than the usual two-hero split format. While the first half introduces Gorr, the second half of the season—designated as Season 10.5—will focus entirely on phases 3 and 4 of the Path to Doomsday event, introducing two new game modes inspired by Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame alongside a new Domination mode map titled God Quarry on September 24, 2026, without adding any further new heroes.
