Marathon devs reveal roadmap through March 2027 with connected PvE, PvP modes
Bungie has shared a development timeline for Marathon spanning October 2026 through March 2027, including progression updates, the game's first permanent PvE experience called Symbiosis, and a unified ecosystem connecting PvE, PvP, and PvEvP content.

Bungie has laid out a roadmap for Marathon detailing major updates planned through March 2027. Game Director Del Chafe III and Creative Director Julia Nardin outlined the schedule in an official news post.
October 2026 will bring a refresh to progression, rewards, and the live experience. The following month, December 2026, introduces Symbiosis as Marathon's first permanent PvE experience. This update also expands the Perimeter area, adds a new shell cosmetic, improves onboarding for new players, and includes a new social space.
By March 2027, Bungie plans to connect the PvE, PvP, and PvEvP experiences into a unified ecosystem. That update will also feature deeper progression systems, a refactored Cradle location, expanded narrative content, new enemy types, and an entirely new zone to explore.
Bungie confirmed in recent statements that despite ongoing support for Destiny, Marathon remains central to the studio's future. The published roadmap gives players clear milestones to anticipate as the game continues development and live service updates.
