Lufia 1 & 2 finally coming to Steam in 2026 as packaged collection
The iconic SNES RPGs arrive on PC for the first time, bundled together on Steam. Lufia & the Fortress of Doom and Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals will release November 16, 2026.

The Lufia series is making its official PC debut. Lufia 1 & 2 The Sinistrals Saga, announced at PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, will arrive on Steam November 16, 2026, marking the first time either game has been officially available on PC.
Lufia & the Fortress of Doom launched in 1993 on SNES in Japan and North America. The game opens by thrusting players into a battle against four godlike enemies called the Sinistrals before jumping ahead nearly 100 years to follow their descendants. Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals is a prequel that returns to the original heroes glimpsed in that opening sequence.
Physical copies of both games remain scarce and expensive. Lufia 1 SNES cartridges can cost hundreds of pounds. Lufia 2 also released on DS as an action RPG, but the Steam release will focus on recreating the original SNES versions.
Taito producer Yuichi Toyama said the team began pursuing the rights four or five years ago in response to fan demand for the series to return. Clear River Games producer James Wragg stated the goal was "emulation as close to the original game as possible."
Both games will be sold as a single package, allowing players to experience the complete Sinistrals story without hunting for hard-to-find originals.
